FIRST FIVE STEPS

Once you have a website, you must then tell the world it exists. Here are the first five steps to take:

1. Submission of the URL (address) to search engines and directories on the worldwide web.
Statistics show that over 60% of the time a first time site visitor arrives at a site, it is from a search engine.  Thus, this is the first and primary task to be done in promoting your site.  At the bottom of this page this topic and the services we offer are explained in more detail.*
2. Include the URL on business cards, stationary and advertising literature.
Make sure that all reprints of cards, stationery, and advertising literature (print ads, brochures, etc) contain your company's URL.  Make sure that your printer gets the URL syntax exactly right.
3. Install a "Signature" in your email program.
Most email programs allow you to designate a "signature" to appear at the end of each message you send.  Limit it to 6 to 8 lines: Company name, address, phone number, URL, email address, and a one-phrase description of your unique business offerings.  Mail lists can be a great way to proactively market your site.
4. Request reciprocal links.
Find complimentary websites and request a reciprocal link to your site. You probably belong to various trade associations that feature member sites.  Ask to exchange links.  Develop a page where you put links to other sites.  Sharing links is very helpful towards search engine placement.  We can help you with this.  (See below.)
5. Capture visitor email addresses and request permission to send updates.
On your website's response form, include a checkbox where the visitor can give you permission to email updates about products or services.  This way your emails to visitors are not "spam" (unsolicited email).  You are responding to their request for more information.

META TAGS

To be truly successful you must develop your META tags in order to strengthen your search engine placement.  These tags are added to your HTML source code in order to boost your website listing within the search engines.  Many of the TOP search engines (Alta Vista, HotBot, InfoSeek, Lycos, etc..) will give your listing a high ranking under targeted keyword search queries, if you add these tags to your website.  All websites we program contain these META tags; this is one of our many free services.

Another URL submission service we can provide you is the submission of your URL to search engines and directories on the worldwide web.

SEARCH ENGINE SUBMISSION & MAINTENANCE

For $50 initial set up and $10 per month, we will provide monthly  submissions of your site to 1500+ search engines and directories.  Proper formatting and monthly submissions are critical to success in search engine placement.   In the process of maintaining your search engine submissions, we will also maintain your reciprocal links page and will make sure you don't get kicked off the search engines for rule infractions.  In addition, you will receive a monthly submission report by email confirming our work.  This service is billed for annually.
